Escargot Anyone?

I already did a post about Barbary Apes a while back, and I don't like to repeat animals. However, my friend Tybalt was talking about onions the other day, which made me think of this story from the Rock of Gibraltar.

Mom saw these Barbary Apes at the Rock of Gibraltar. They live there freely and every day they have an interesting meal. There are people at the Rock who help provide extra food for the apes and guess what it is? Vegetables like cabbage and onions! You will be able to smell a strong odor as you walk up as they LOVE to eat whole onions!

After they eat as much as they can, they like to take a snooze. This ape was leaning up again a wall, and sound asleep!

Mom also saw hoards of these snails all over the roads. I pondered another thought.......why don't the apes just eat the snails? Oh, I know! They don't like escargot!

(P.S. If you are not familiar with escargot on a restaurant menu, it is snails!)

Before you go, please sign my GUESTBOOK, and stop by my SMALL WORLD too, thanks!

Join CAT IDOL!!! Think of it like American Idol but with cats. Everyday a cat WILL get eliminated based on the fans votes. Since it is American Idol season I say we try it. Since with the new style it will not matter the number of cat pictures I will need. So feel free to join! Just remember to take a picture of your cat with your thumb showing in the picture (this is done to prove that it is really your cat). Send the picture to admin@wozog.com. The winner gets 32 bucks, but most importantly will go on the WOZOG hall of fame with their picture! I have gotten many pictures after this tournament started so there will be more competition. But it will be FUN!!! www.wozog.com

I can't remember if I told you that mistress has some piccies of them on her ItchyFeetAtForty site (NO monkeys on MY dogblog huh) that were taken on Christmas Day.

The Macaques are looked after by the Gib natural history society and it is illegal for anyone else to feed them as it messes with their diet and their metabolism. Mistress likes to keep pointing this out to everyone so they aren't tempted to feed them if they ever visit.

Hey JB! I have never met a C-A-T before, but I have heard them screaming in the V.E.T.'s office... they scream so loud it kinda scare me! I think I would like you, though; you look pretty chill sunning yourself on your window seat! :-)

By the way, my girl LOVES the name Jelly Bean - that's one of the names she was thinking for me. I do not think I am a "Jelly Bean" however. But it suits you perfectly!

Great pictures. Strange about the snails. I wonder why they congregate on the roads, you'd think they'd prefer a safer place:) xxx
