Swiss Cows for Swiss Milk & Swiss Cheese

My mom's aunt in Switzerland heard about my blog and wanted me to showcase some Swiss animals. She sent my mom some pictures to scan.

These are some Swiss cows. They live near Spiez which is near the Lake of Thun in the Berner Oberland canton of Switzerland. I like the curly furs on the tops of their heads!

I hope these cows are used for making Swiss Milk and Swiss Cheese, and I hope people aren't raising these cows to eat them!

Mom remembered on her visits to Switzerland as a child, seeing the Swiss cows wearing cow bells.

The sound of the bells would let their owner know where they were so they would not get lost.........I don't need to wear a bell around my neck because my mom ALWAYS knows where I am!

(sorry the scans are not so good, but it is the best my mom could do from older photos)

Before you go, please sign my GUESTBOOK, and stop by my SMALL WORLD too, thanks!

Oh those cows are cute. They sure produce nice cheese. You think they perm the little hair on their head to make it curly?

My hoomans have the exact same cow bells at home. I think my auntie brought it home during her travels.

My parents eat Swiss cheese. Now they know the cheese came from the cows in your picture! Good to know!

I'm really enjoying your Big World Blog JB! I wouldn't want to eat those cows either. Actually, I don't eat any mammals. But, I like fish!

Sister went to Switzerland once... she said she remembers the cow bells. She was in a hotel right on the alps, and you could hear the bells allllll night long. Also, each herd of cows, had a different bell sound than the other, so the people could tell the difference!

JB wow swiss cows, these are really cool photos. As much cows are not that exotic, they are one of my favorite animals to photograph. Everytime we go hiking, I tend to stop by the farm to take some photos, but because it is on the side of the road, they usually run away. Thanks for sharing, these are really great shots, and thanks for sharing all this info with us. Anna :) PS I love milk and swiss cheese.

Beautiful, J.B.! And we have the same question as forty paws: where are their holes?

Hey J.B., thanks for stopping by my blog. I promise I've never eaten a cat and I never will. I have a cousin Smitty the Kitty and I like to eat his cat food.

Actually I'm allergic to cats so I don't get to play with them very often.

Your friend, Lenny
