Blue Heron in Holland

This looks like a Great Blue Heron that mom saw near the tulip fields in north Holland. It was quite far away so mom had to zoom in way too far and it is not so sharp, but I am pretty excited to have such a large birdie friend now!

These birds live near swampy areas, like this dutch canal. They mostly like to eat small fish. There is a lot of fish in Holland, so he must be well fed like all the other dutch animals I now know!

I like this new animal friend, because he is a birdie, and you know how I LOVE birdies!

Just a short post today because my mom has been having a terrible time with the armadillos in our yard still and she worked in the yard most of the weekend....again!

Before you go, please sign my GUESTBOOK, and stop by my SMALL WORLD too, thanks!

This is a fantastic photo of a Blue Heron... at first I thought it was a painting with the flowers in the background... it's such a pretty photo!
I love birdies too!

Isn't it cool to see a bird in a foreign country and know what it is? Great shot with the flowers in the background

Your Mom is really smart. She knows about lots of animals. Even though she zoomed in on the heron, the picture still looks fantastic! I hope she frames some of the photos of your friends and of the flowers and puts them up in your cat house! My Mom is trying to find just the right photo for the bathroom downstairs. Maybe one of your Mom's bulb flower photos will work well there... the pics are so pretty.

What a gorgeous photo. The blue heron is incredible as are the tulips in the background. What a beautiful spot. We sure wish we could visit there.

What a great picture! Your mom sure saw some spectacular things. She should have brought the birdie home to you.

I hope your mum had a wonderful mothers day too, JB. Oh those arm dillos thingies are horrible. They are destructive lil creatures for sure. I bet your mum is on a war path.

Tulips...so many tulips...I would not survive if I could see such a beauty... How can they do it? To place all this quantity of bulbs in the right position?
I had no one tulip this year. The roses are good, but tulips... oh....

Hi JB, it's nice to meet you... Though I normally don't like cats (considering I live with 3 of the stupidest, scariest, sneakiest, dumbest cats in the world), I suppose we can be... um... er...friends. (Just please don't tell anyone, 'cause it'll ruin my reputation.)

There's one thing we do have in common, and that is that we both love birds! I love to EAT them, hee hee. Actually, I'm not sure if I love to eat them... I've never caught one yet... But it's on the list of things I plan to do before I die.

Thanks for dropping by my blog. I'll add you to my links so I can visit you more often...
