As many of you know, we have been having lots of trouble at my house with Armadillos (click here for story). There are Armadillos living in the pond area across from our house. Each spring, they come and destroy my mom's flower beds and yard. This year has been especially bad, as they keep digging huge holes under our house! These sneaky creatures come out at night and avoid being photographed.
Mom was working in the yard a few weeks ago, just after an especially bad dillo trench was dug in our front yard. Mom had to replace some bushes that were not doing well, and when she dug them up, she also dug up these babies! They were not bigger than mom's finger, had no eyes and she could see them breathing! They were found in some really tough hard clay soil we have. Before you go, please sign my GUESTBOOK, and stop by my SMALL WORLD too, thanks!

I'm so sorry your baby mole animal friends were deaded. {{{hug}}}
Mom says they sort of look like hamster babies (how she knows this, I'm not sure). :)
I have trouble killing things, but moles are as much a nusiance as armadillos when it comes to digging up the yard and flowerbeds. It would have freaked me out, too. Sometimes nature and people just clash, whether we want to or not.
Oh, that has upset me. Poor little babies. Your mum didn't know though.
We don't usually have all these garden problems in the UK, which I'm glad about. They go for the more open spaces.
w00f's JB...u mama iz like my mama, she doesnt wanna kill anything either..she even lets spiders live..how bad iz dat...
b safe,

eeeeewwwwww.... that's kind of sad and kind of gross. we're sorry that they had to die in your garbage can.
woofs.
Hmmm, moles, eh? Moles are trouble makers, just like armadillos are, at least that's what my parents say. They dig up things too, like armadillos do I think. My dad has spent plenty of time in the yard undoing the damage moles and gophers have done to my yard. Your mom had to do what she had to do. It's just the way things are, JB.
OH dear... well, these things happen and it wasn't done on purpose. Mom didn't know and you know mom always finds you tons and tons of other kinds of animals friends all the time so I hope you will forgive her and give her a big wet kiss and and a big purr-hug and let her know it's OK!
Oh dear.. I'm sure your mom didn't meant to do it on purpose..

One time, my friend found a dead mole in her box of Cheerios. Moles can get into the house. We have never seen armadillos before. If they are like raccoons, then they must be annoying.
Oops.. sorry to hear that your Baby Mole friends are dead. But it's really not your mom's fault so please don't be upset with her ok?
Oh I am so sorry and upset. POOOOOR little babies... Please, calm down dear I am sure your mom is upset too.
Angel.
That is sad. I feel bad for the babies, I feel bad for your mom.
{{{hugs}}} to everyone.
We used to have moles that dug in my old homes yard. My mom said she killed a baby too, on accident...She felt bad too...but they have so many babies and they really can destroy a yard...There are alot of things you can do that will not harm them to keep them from coming in your yard...she looked it up on the internet...sometimes she would stick a garden hose in the mound and it would collapse.....

Oh JB, I'm sorry for your baby mole friends and for their mother, who must have wondered what had become of them, but I'm sorry for your Mom too coz I bet she's feeling bad. I know she loves animals:) xxx
I saw your note JB! Maui? My parents LOVE Maui! It's their favorite Hawaiian Island!
Hi JB! I'm visiting! I do pop over here, but usually I like to comment on you small world site. I do enjoy your Big World too.
I'm sorry about your little friends. Your poor Mom. She panicked, but I'm sure she was just really freaked out. I hope she is not being too hard on herself. We found a dead baby squirell in our yard last week and gave him resting place by the rose bushes. We think our neighbor is using pesticides. Nature is just not fair sometimes and has a mind of its own. Trust me there are more baby moles in your yard! I don't know if that's a good thing for your yard though. :)
Have a great day and give Mom a snuggle.
Love and smoochies,
Lorianna
This really is a sad story and I am sorry for your baby mole friends. But of course that it wasn’t your mom fault; you have to be aware that she didn’t do anything on purpose. As I can imagine how you felt and I am sure that you can image how your mom felt as well. :-)
and the Canine Kids said,
How sad but your Mom didn't kill them and knowing how much she cares about all animals, I know she probably feels sad to find them dead.
I hope your Mom feels better now. This was unavoidable. She couldn't have ever saved them. I don't want your Mom to feel bad about this. I hate to say something that sounds flippant but sometimes awful things happen. I have some regrets too. We all do. Please give her our love.
Wow, how scary to have dug these up. They probably would not have survived anyhow. I'm sorry you were sad about it too.
