Smorgasbord of Birdies

Today I would like to present some of my other backyard birdie friends. You could say this is a Smorgasbord of Birdies for me and my sisters to watch, and this is very enticing for us! This first one is Mr. Blue Jay. He is a little scruffy looking but he has beautiful blue tail feathers.

Mr. Cardinal is another pretty colored birdie. He seems to like sunflower seeds a lot and has one in his mouth! Mom got the bird seed out the other day and some spilled on the floor. I tried to taste it and I did not like it one bit!

Mom is still trying to get a better picture of this Red-Winged Blackbird. They are hard to photograph!

We get lots of House Finches in our backyard. Mr. Finch has bright red colors.

Last but not least, I present Mr. Brown-Headed Cowbird. I heard that Cowbirds like to hand out with the Red-Winged Blackbirds a lot. I wonder if they are good friends with cows too?

The reason we have so many birdies in our backyard, is that my mom has a couple of feeders hanging from a tree. We LOVE to watch the birdies at my house!

In conclusion, I would like to say that no birdies were harmed in the making of this Smorgasbord of Birdies!

Before you go, please sign my GUESTBOOK, and stop by my SMALL WORLD too, thanks!

I like to watch birdies, too, but the ones that come to my porch are bigger...like egrets and herons and turkeys.

We have all those birdies in our yard too. Your mummy takes wonderful photos!!! Mum says she also has one of those bird feeders but hasn't had time to get it out this year.
I won't try bird seed, since you say it tastes nasty. But the birdies seem to like it alot.
I am so glad no birds were harmed.

I wish my mummy worked from home. My mum says she will probably never be able to retire. She is not like some people that want to work until they are 100...she likes to stay home, but she can't stand depending on anyone..its like a constant fight in her head. She said the only way she could retire is if she wins the lottery! I am going to save my pennies and maybe set-up a snackie stand to raise enough money for her to enter the lottery. Wouldn't that be cool, JB

That sounds like a great idea, JB. My mum doesn't hate her job, but she says it is going to give her a heart attack some day. She might get a raise every 4 years if she puts her foot down. Alot of her friends are looking for rich men, mum says she isn't interested in rich, she just wants a man that is faithful and maybe does the dishes. I will try and come up with some ideas for our mummies to make some money so they can retire and stay home with us all day long.

Those are great pictures of your bird friends. Don't drool too much when you are watching them...it messes up the windows :-)

My Mom has seen the picture of Taffy on your Small World blog -- what a beautiful girl Taffy was! And Mom smiles when she sees how similar our eyes are. :)

Gosh, you get a much better selection of birds then we do in London. My human won't feed them though because she's worried I might eat them. FAZ

Beautiful bird pictures! My favourite is the peacock; always loved peackocs... ;))

Wow, what beautiful birds. We don't have red wing blackbirds here so that was really cool to see one so up close.
We love the feeders too.
Thanks for sharing such beautiful pictures.

Well, I have to admit, when I first saw the title of this post, "smorgasbord" I got a wee bit nervous with you being a kitty but after reading its entirety, I understood and it's an absolutely beautiful post! Wonderful birdies!!

Your mom does great bird pictures (mistress is rubbish at birds), and I love the roadrunner too on the post before.

But so sad to throw the baby moles in the bin. Poor little babies.
