Red & Yellow Hawaiian Feathered Friends

My daddy's Big World Report from Hawaii also included this birdie he saw on a hike up to Diamond Head volcanic park. It is called a Brazilian Cardinal, and what a beautiful birdie this is! This bird is common to Brazil, Argentina, Bolivia and other South American countries. It was introduced to Hawaii in about 1928.

Both the male and female birds of this species look alike with a gorgeous red head, unlike the Northern Cardinal where only the male has the pretty red color. I like these birdies, but I think they must have fallen headfirst into a vat of red paint!

The second item of interest from my daddy's report, was this Duck Tour Bus. Ducks must be super special in Hawaii if they get to have their own tour bus! I think I would look really cute sitting in the front seat of this bus with my new Hawaiian Duck friends! What do you think?

Before you go, please sign my GUESTBOOK, and stop by my SMALL WORLD too, thanks!

That one birdie has a really cool head....My mum is going to look like that birdie tonight. She is getting her hair weaved with colbolt blue...hehe I think she is crazy. I wonder if I can color my hair..If I could it would be Lime Green I think.
OH, they have those duck busses in Arkansas too. They drive right off the road, straight into water, so the ducks don't even have to walk to the water.

That is my new favorite bird! The cardinal was my favorite, but this one is even more special!

I would love to take that duck tour. I had my first boat ride this last weekend.

What a beautiful bird! We have not such colorful birds here in Italy. The birds are black and grey mostly.

Could your dad not make a tour with that splendid bus? What a pitty!

Beautiful birdie!

Hey JB, if you need a 'guest' Big World blogger you can use pictures of our recent trip to Prince Albert National Park (in Saskatchewan Canada). We saw a fawn, a moose and a yellow and black catipillar.

Hi JB! Great colours in Hawaii, even if taken from a vat of paint... ;)
Missed your comment on my post of 08.08.08 at 08h08 at Blogtrotter, now in Kos, Greece! :(
Wish you a great Sunday!

I am suspicious of your Daddy Len. I thought he was supposed to be working on his airplane. Instead he is off spending time hiking and visiting the beach! Things don't add up, but then again, I can't add too well.

The Duck vehicle can also be found in Boston! And I think they might also be found at Busch Gardens in Tampa, Florida. They can be used in land and water, at least the one in Boston can.
