HipHop in My Backyard

I want to introduce to you my Grasshopper friends. They live in my backyard. They can be all different colors from brown to olive to bright green or yellow. The can change color to camoflage themselves, and are very good hoppers with their large back legs.

My mom is mad at them, because she says they have been munching on our Canna Lilies. Grasshoppers are known to destroy plants, so maybe my mom is right.....

Sometimes we think we can hear the grasshoppers tying to make music. I wonder if the music is called HipHop? Just another thought I ponder...........

If you'd like to see a BEAR, please come to my Small World and meet BEAR!

Before you go, please sign my GUESTBOOK, and stop by my SMALL WORLD too, thanks!

I think they are very cute. I'm afraid that if Mitzi saw one, she would eat it though :(

I don't like these insects. Here, they are enormous, about 7-8 cm. You find them in all the incredible places... Oh no, I don't like them!

Those look huge! My Mom says she hopes you don't get swarms of locusts!!! There are always movies on TV about swarms.

Great little guys... I love walking in the long grasses along the rivers and see them all hoping out... it especially tickles the legs when I'm wearing shorts in the summer time! =D

They are kinda cute and I am sure it'd be fun to 'play' with them... but I am not sure about the 'eating the plants' part.. my mom will be so upset too!

We had no idea grasshoppers eat lilies. You're a great feline naturalist, JB! Now, we need to go meet this Bear fellow. . .

My mommy doesn't like those grasshoppers either. I bet you would like to play with them! I would probably try to eat one!

Wow! Thanks for sharing the pic of your hopping friend. I have never seen a grasshopper close up before and the colors are really nice in your first pic. Have a great weekend!

Those grasshoppers look pretty cool. I wish I could change to the color of the rug when I have to get a bath. What do those grasshoppers taste like?

I wonder what Bear did with the peanut butter rawhide? Did you look in the toadhouse? I sure hope he didn't put it under your scratch pad, cuz I know how you are all tidy and things and don't like to get your furs wet and stuff. How is poopoo doing? and Misty? Have you played with Bear yet?
