Red & Yellow Hawaiian Feathered Friends

My daddy's Big World Report from Hawaii also included this birdie he saw on a hike up to Diamond Head volcanic park. It is called a Brazilian Cardinal, and what a beautiful birdie this is! This bird is common to Brazil, Argentina, Bolivia and other South American countries. It was introduced to Hawaii in about 1928.

Both the male and female birds of this species look alike with a gorgeous red head, unlike the Northern Cardinal where only the male has the pretty red color. I like these birdies, but I think they must have fallen headfirst into a vat of red paint!

The second item of interest from my daddy's report, was this Duck Tour Bus. Ducks must be super special in Hawaii if they get to have their own tour bus! I think I would look really cute sitting in the front seat of this bus with my new Hawaiian Duck friends! What do you think?

Walking in Waikiki

My mom and daddy decided to postpone their trip to Maui till March, which was supposed to be over Labor Day.....so no Big World Assignment in Maui! They said they have too much going on with the recent move and the house, and mom's job interviews.

But what is this then....how did this picture get in my blog? My daddy was Walking in Waikiki? Yes he was! He got called to fly his big birdie in the sky to Honolulu, and he got called to do this twice over the last few days! My mom was not too happy to be left at home....

My daddy tried to do a mini Big World Assignment, but he said he was having trouble with his camera. (I really must make sure my reporters have good operating camera equipment.)

Here are some doggies he saw when he was Walking in Waikiki. They are of the Hawaiian variety. My reporter daddy, apologizes for the blurriness.

I bet these Hawaiian doggies did not even realize that JB's Big World paparazzi had caught a shot of them. Now their butts are famous!

Peter Rabbit's Cousins

Greetings, friends. Sorry I have not posted in my Big World for so long, but as you can imagine, we had a lot to do when we moved.

I would like to present to you, my new backyard. I was very excited to see that I had lots of new friends already waiting for me! Do you see them?

My friend Peter Rabbit, from my old house, has lots of cousins here at my new house! This make me very happy, but my daddy says they are not good and they eat up all the plants.....

My mom and I count about 6-8 Bunny Rabbit cousins at a time in the evenings, and these are some BIG country Bunnies! I wonder why there are so many Bunnies? Mom says it is because they multiply like crazy. I don't know why being good at math has anything to do with it.....

We have a bird feeder at our new house too, where there are more Bunny Rabbit cousins!

The Bunny Rabbits are a little scared of my mom, so they have not let her get good close-up shots yet. Maybe Peter Rabbit has not told them about JB's Big World, and that I am their friend?

More New Friends Coming Soon

To all my blogging friends, we are in the middle of moving Big & Small World Studios, so I have not had time to write about any new animal friends. I thought I'd take this opportunity to post a picture of Moi (fancy french word for "me"), which I don't do often in my Big World.

Preview: Mom will be going on Big World Assignment to Maui at the end of the month! I will have more interesting stories and anecdotes to tell you soon. That is, if mom survives our move!

This is JB, and this is my Big World!

New Neighborhood Friends

We are moving next weekend to a house a little further out to the country. Mom says to enjoy the country while I can, because many more people will start to move out this way soon too. Here are some of my new neighbors!

There are Cows......who said, "Welcome to the neighborhood, JB!"

Horses.....who said, "Welcome to the ~NEIGH~borhood, JB!"

Barns with more animals inside, who said, "Welcome to the neighborhood, JB!"

Goats.....who said, "No butts about it, JB, welcome to the neighborhood!"

And even Llamas......in between spits, said, "Welcome to the neighborhood, JB!"

I think I am going to like my new neighborhood, and my New Neighborhood Friends!
