Santa, Come Get Your Reindeer!

Here is another Big World Report from my mom from The Fossil Rim Wildlife Center in Glen Rose, Texas. She met some European Red Deer, who were quite a rowdy bunch!
Clearly they were not one bit shy as you might expect Deer to be!

They were quite persistent, in fact!

So persistent, that my mom got deer drool all over her!! Mom tried to tell them to stop, but it did not help.

Are you talking to me? Are you talking to ME?

Stop talking, and feed me!

Yum, yum, yum!

Ew! Mom! Why doesn't this Deer have to get his teeth cleaned like I just had to? I know my teeth did not look THAT bad!

Yes, these European Red Deer are a rowdy persistent bunch......

Santa, come get your ReinDeer!

Thank you to everyone who has read my silly little blog this year. My mom enjoys taking pictures of animals and I like meeting all my new animal friends and talking about them.
We wish everyone a very Merry Christmas!

Grevy's Zebras are Groovy!

Lookey here! My mom found these new friends for me also at the Fossil Rim Wildlife Center in Glen Rose, Texas. They are called Grevy's Zebras and they are the largest of all Zebras!

Grevy's Zebras are can be identified by their large ears and their brown facial markings. Kinda looks like a brown suntan on their faces!

These Zebras are one of the most endangered of all Zebras due to poaching and loss of their natural habitats in Somalia, Ethiopia, and northern Kenya.
Another interesting way to identify Grevy's Zebras is that they have very narrow stripes which do not meet at the bottom, so their bellies are white!
And look! A baby Grevy's Zebra!! He is just the right size for me! "Mom....mom.....do you think I could go for a ride on this baby Zebra?"

I like my new Grevy's Zebra friends! I think they are Groovy!

Bongo in the Jungle!

My mom and daddy FINALLY went
on Big World Assignment again,
to the Fossil Rim Wildlife Center in Glen Rose, Texas. It is about 2 hours from our house. This Center has 1800 acres of mainly free roaming animals!

My next few posts will showcase the animal friends that my mom and daddy found for me. As you will see, some of these animals were extra SUPER excited to be my friends!

Oh, and just so you know this is a REAL report, here is my mom in action, on Big World Assignment!

The first animal I would like to present is the Bongo, which is the largest most colorful Forest Antelope. It is on the Endangered Species list.

It comes from West Central Africa. They are very good at hiding in forested areas due to their coloring.

Hey.....Wasn't there a song about Bongos a long time ago?

Yes, let's BONGO in the jungle.
Well, that's all right by me, yes.
Well, I'm a tiger when I want love.
I'm a snake when we disagree.

Let's BONGO in the jungle.
Well, that's all right by me, yes.
I'm a tiger...

Ok, maybe that is not exactly how the song goes, but meeting these new Bongo friends made me think of it!
