The
Carson & Barnes Circus was in town, near our house, a couple of weekends ago, and I told my mom that she must go and check on the working conditions of my
Circus Friends.
I wanted to make sure that my friends were all being taken care of and were healthy.
Here are the friends my mom met:

There were
Elephants hard at work inside the big circus tent. Mom said they looked pretty healthy, but she was sad they had to perform like this.

Even though
Elephants can weigh up to 15,000 pounds,
they seemed very light on their toes!
There was also performing
Ponies.
I must say I am a bit intrigued by the pretty red feathers they are wearing!
My mom was sad for the
Ponies. Outside the tent, they were tied to a carousel and had to walk round and round in a circle giving small humans rides.

Their eyes were closed like they were either very sad, tired, or asleep.

I hope my
Pony Friends are ok. I wish they did not have to work so much. Overall, my mom reports that the
Elephants and
Ponies looked relatively well cared for.
Stay tuned for my next post reporting on some more Circus Friends!

Your mum should have tried to get one of those feathers for you. I am sure they would not have minded. Those ponies look so tired or just sick of humans and traveling. We could sure use one of those elephants on one of our picnic adventures, uh?

I always feel sad for performing animals. It's not their natural behaviour and I've heard that they are treated badly until they learn to do what they are told. maybe it's a lot better now days. I hope so.
Tank woo fur sending your mom to chekhk on them!

It is very sad how they are made to work. Thanks for the report.
It breaks my heart when I see animals in circus'.

We hope they are truly well taken care of. We've heard of how badly performing animals were treated and that's really sad.
My mom has mixed feelings and concerns about the circus, too.
hi JB, we wonder how those elephants can sit on those chairs and not crush them.
we feel sad for the circus animals too. we think those ponies look bored and thirsty. we wish they could go run care free at our dog park like we do.
woofs.
Maybe they are all too tired to work in circus because they all sleep during the daytime... :-)
The first photo is great!
JB nice photos. I really like elephants, something about. Anna :)
Oh poor ponies. My hoomans met a baby Elephant in a Zoo once who is always tied with a very short chained & forced to stand in a tight space just for people to take pictures with it or feed it or pat it. Twice they've seen the poor thing tied there & in two different years. That means, he's been tied there for probably a few years already & now two years has passed since my hoomans have gone to that zoo. He swings from side to side out of distress I think. Poor thing.

The poor ponies look so tired. I think that means they don't enjoy walking around in a circle all day. It's sad they're not smiling.
The horses look more energetic. Those are very pretty feathers, but I think they'd be too big for you JB.
You're right, those poor little ponies look beat! Those little human's parents should take them to the carosel where the horses are plastic instead of tuckering out the real thing! But, I think our mom may want to get our little human sister a pony one day (in a way we hope so, because she is always clinbing on us! Especially King!)
