Save the Heard Sanctuary!

Last week, mom became a member at the Heard Natural Science Museum and Wildlife Sanctuary in McKinney Texas.

It is near our house, and mom never fully explored the preserve, until I recently sent her there on Big World Assignment!

Mom did make one mistake, and she forgot to bring her Big World Research Permit, so she could not visit all the Protected Areas.

The preserve is beautiful, with natural trees and plants and wonderful trails to hike.

And some interesting plant-like formations that I am not familiar with, since I am an feline expert on Animal Friends, not plant life.
However, things are not good, and there is a big lawsuit going on between the North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD) and the Heard Sanctuary, which could affect the Preserve's habitat.
The NTMWD wants to put a 3500 foot long sewage line through the Sanctuary!

My animal friends, like the Raccoons who live here, could be affected terribly, with disruption of their environment.

This Yellow Bellied Water Snake may have to slither away and raise his family elsewhere, as may some of my other Animal Friends who live here.

If you want to help save the Heard Sanctuary, please visit their website to learn more, and sign the Petition to stop this horrible thing from happening:

Thank you for your support!

Before you go, please sign my GUESTBOOK, and stop by JB's SMALL WORLD too, thanks!

Us humans are very stupid at times. Hopefully you animals outsmart us on this. Duh-sewage could leak and kill the habitat. Let alone the construction destroying whats in the pathway. Good luck.

We did not know that was there. Mom's Daddy was born in McKinney and we went through there the end of April when we took our 7 days off from Denton after Shamus had to leave for the bridge.
Mom will look into this!
