Strong Muscular Animal Friend

Mom's Big World Report at the Dallas Zoo, also included this strong muscular animal friend, the Gorilla!

Could you imagine how cute I would look riding on his back?  

He scared mom a little because he was throwing stuff really hard at the glass of his enclosure where mom took this picture.  I am sure he did not mean anything by it, and was just tired of being cooped up.

 JB, you are a silly little GirlCat, but you do know a lot about animals, so I will be your friend.

Golden Birdie Architect

Here is another installment of my mom's Big World Assignment to the Dallas Zoo.

This is a Taveta Golden Weaver, which lives in Southern Kenya and NE Tanzania in the wild.

The males have beautiful golden coloring.

 

They use all sorts of grasses to build these unique spherical nests with the opening at the bottom of the nest.

 

JB:  "Silly birdie, don't you think your eggs and babies might fall out of there?"
And the Taveta Golden Weaver said, "no JB, we have always built our homes like this." 

I am so glad to have such interesting new birdie friends with such great architectural skills!

Cheetahs are Clean Cats Too

Sometimes when mom is in between Big World Assignments to faraway places, I send her on local Assignments.  This weekend, I told mom to go to the Dallas Zoo and report back to me her findings.

I am glad mom's reflection is in the picture below hard at work, because sometimes my Reporter mom slacks off on the job.

Ms Cheetah:  Are you JB's mom?  We have been waiting for you.  Please tell JB that we are so happy to be her friends!

 

We are all ok here at the Dallas Zoo, but we don't have much room to run in this enclosure.  We are the fastest land animals and can run 70-75 miles per hour!  

 

Another interesting not so known fact about us, is that since we are Cats just like you, JB, we like to stay clean and pristine also.   
We too do a good bit of fur grooming, as you can see!
