What an interesting visitor I had in my garden near our pool! This is a Common Whitetail Dragonfly.
Mom caught this shot of him resting quietly, hanging from a plant leaf. I did some research, and found that the males like to "perch" or rest on objects near water. They do this so they can patrol their territory, and drive away other male dragonflies!
Maybe he should just stop fighting with other dragonflies and come inside and play with me? What do you think?
